Alastair Sweeny, a Canadian publisher, historian and author, includes the illustrious history of the RIM (Research In Motion) with great detail and well-researched content in a BlackBerry Planet.Knjiga was published in 2009 and is the most comprehensive account of corporate history of RIM and their revolutionary, Star Trek inspired, BlackBerry.
Sweeny says the Canadian company's early start date, a long and costly legal battle defending the patent, and the government to rely on the BlackBerry uređajima.Knjiga talking about RIM's technical and financial success with the BlackBerry, as well as the failures over the years spawned a highly functional BlackBerry is seen today. BlackBerry Planet, and the details of how RIM has come up with the BlackBerry name and how it is received by the public. Sweeny also touches on the infamous "Crackberry" syndrome suffered so much BlackBerry users and explains how it affects a user's personal and professional life.
BlackBerry Planet, although well researched and well written, do tend to get in his presentation. Sweeney could not let a topic before in order to avoid erratic session from time to vrijeme.Dio details of government officials' use of BlackBerry, for example, went on to document and quoting what seemed like every member of the American vlade.Korištenje bulleted list was is a bit excessive, but Sweeney still manages to get his point across, although it uses more words than necessary.
All in all, the book is informative and interesting, but it is sometimes difficult to follow because of frequent repetition. I think that the Sweeney could not say what needs to be said in much fewer pages by saving a few trees. However, I do not recommend this book to anyone who requires a detailed history lesson on RIM and BlackBerry, or for general research. I might add that the book is also available in e-book format through Amazon's Kindle app for BlackBerry.
